8-BALL POOL RULES

It's highly recommended going full screen and not exiting the game to talk in lobby or going to other tabs until game is finished. This will prevent your game from freezing.

Starting a Game:

All games are played 1 v 1 in a PRIVATE match against your opponent.
Scratching while potting the 8 Ball is a loss (except in Reverse variation game).
Ball in Hand & Snookering/Safety's are allowed. Ball in Hand when opponent is on8 Ball is only allowed if opponent scratches while attempting to pot the 8 Ball.
You may use a combination of your own or your opponents balls to pot your balls. If you use your opponents balls to pot your own, but don't end up potting yours, it will give your opponent Ball in Hand so be careful!
All games are normally straight pool games, if a tournament director wants to create a different type of game, they will post rules to everyone in the lobby and will be specified on the tournament page.
When match is posted, first player listed invites opponent using unique password
When creating passwords use only numbers or lowercase letters ONLY (not together).
Try avoid using “123” as it seems to be most used, and if multiple people use 123 as password, wrong players may enter the wrong game which will cause confusion.

All players (whether setting or joining a game) have 3 MINUTES from when the pairings are posted to get into the game, failure to do so results in a DQ.
Once both players are on the table, the game will then automatically begin.

Game Play/Rules:

Object of the game is to pocket all your subsequent balls (solid or stripes), and then lastly the 8 ball at the end.
Player to pocket their balls and the 8 ball at the end is the winner of the game.
If the 8 ball is pocketed before you hit your other balls in first, it results in an automatic loss.

*NOTE: IF YOUR OPPONENT IS ON THE 8 BALL AND HITS THE 8 BALL AND MISSES, YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO A BALL IN HAND OPPORTUNITY. SO PLEASE, EVEN IF IT SAYS “BALL IN HAND” WHEN IT’S YOUR TURN… DO NOT MOVE!

YOU MAY USE BIH IF YOUR OPPONENT SCRATCHES OR HITS YOUR BALL FIRST AND IT GIVES YOU BALL IN HAND, EVEN ON 8 BALL!

Once the game is officially over please, whether you won or lost post the result. For Example:
Player A def Player B (or) Player B lost to Player A
Player A // Player B (or) Player B // Player A
Won against Player A (or) Lost against Player B etc etc.
Just be sure to communicate clearly wins / loses to your tournament host.
Please make sure the winner is announced on table before leaving. Departing the table when 8 is potted will cancel out the game and could result in a DQ.

**TIPS AND TRICKS**

The game itself can be a bit quirky so here’s some “tips and tricks” below to try and maximize the quality of your game play without issues.

If you are the one inviting an opponent, and they are having a hard time entering your game by typing in your password, there is a “SHARE LINK” button at the top right corner of the game above the top right pocket.
Click SHARE LINK
Click COPY TO CLIPBOARD
Paste it into chat. This will give your opponent a clickable link straight to your game.

When creating a password that is letters and not numbers, make sure it’s all in lowercase.
If you have one or all letters in caps, and a player types your password in all lowercase, they will not be able to join game.

If you like to play the game in full screen mode, make sure to stay there the entire game. Sometimes if you try to deviate back and forth to screen mode and chat mode it could cause disruptions in the game for you and your opponent.

Make sure you have solid Internet connection. If you are walking and playing and you go from data to wifi or out of service, it'll kick you off table, and that's YOUR loss.

When playing a game, be sure to try and NOT deviating from the game and going back and forth between different tabs / windows. Many of us tend to be multi-taskers, but if you leave the game to go to another window or tab it will cause issues.
1. On your next turn it will show it’s your turn and the clock is winding down, but your stick will likely disappear and you’ll get timed out and lose your turn.
2. It may also lag your entire game not just for you but your opponent, causing the game to be unplayable and unfinishable.
3. If this does happen, it’s up to you, your opponent and your tournament host how to handle the situation.
The game can be restarted
The game can be DQ’d on the player who had/caused issues.

When the game is over and you leave the game, be sure to back out to the main menu. If you do not go back to menu you will remain in the lobby with the previous games password.
Do not leave the table until it posts the winner as it will void the points. Abuse of this will result in DQ and boxing.

This really isn’t a tip or trick but if there’s a new player having issues and in a clear need of help, please do what you can to help them resolve issues. It not only shows good sportsmanship, but it motivates them to stay and play!
If a player experiences an issue with their game, please direct them to report it on the forum at https://www.casesarcade.com/pool/?forum=1 . They need to click on Bug Reports and Features Request. Once there, on the right side, click on New Topic. They should put 8 Ball Pool in the subject/title. Be sure to have them include the Time of game, issue, and our game room. More details, the better chance they see resolution.
We want our members to have their concerns heard, but also to keep the negativity out of the lobby.
We are the only league hosting pool daily, especially 12 hours a day!
